Flight Club

The first rule of flight club is never talk about flight club.

I feel like no one ever talks about how torturous long-haul flights are. I suppose the rest of the trip makes it well worth the pain, but oh, the paiiiin.

The first 14 hours were okay, I guess. Despite the rude, rude lady sitting beside me who first insisted that her basically full-sized suitcase was suitable to be stowed under the chair in front (aka taking up half of my leg room), and then proceeded to ask me to use my phone to make an international call, um no! The positive was that I managed to sleep for about 9 of the 14 hours. Dean not so much.

Oh, before that we obviously went through Sydney airport.. FYI Hayley- there was no line, it was 4am though.

The second leg from Dubai to Heathrow was much quicker at only 7hours. We both slept a bit more, before we finalllllly arrived.
Our ride from the airport took forever! I spent the ride in awe of all the beautiful streets and suburbs.. This is what Dean "can't sleep on aeroplanes" Notman did....

Anyway, we're now checked into our hotel, fed & ready to wake up refreshed tomorrow for day 1 of our "hop-on hop-off" bus tour. Hopefully we'll have much more exciting photos to share tomorrow.

Stay safe family & friends..

Exciting things to come…

Exciting things to come…

After a quality year of planning it feels like our holiday is finally upon us (if we make it through these last few working days that is!). With only 3 days to go the mad organising has ceased and we are perhaps over-prepared for whatever Europe may throw at us. But better over than under prepared, right?

Just a couple of our destinations....

It’s really difficult to get too excited, I suppose since we booked so far in advance the excitement has died over the whole 11 month period and it still feels forever away. I just need to keep reminding myself that we touch down in London in just a few days and a dreaded 22 hour flight away. Thank goodness there are things like sleeping tablets to help the time go faster..

Last time's sleeping antics..

We are planning to be more travel smart this time. By we, I mean Dean… we all remember that Bali tattoo 7 pain killers saga. I have planned to be more packing smart and take much less than I have already planned to, leaving room for the important things like GHD’s & Miracurl’s of course…. Because what’s the point of taking photos if we don’t look great in them?

We’ll do our very best to keep you all in the loop with regular blog posts and lots of glamorous photos of us eating delicious food while drinking delicious wine (did I mention it will be delicious?)…. But for now, here’s a recap in photos of 2014 so far..
