Day 2

So, I'm posting this late/the next day because last night I was in such a food coma it would not have been possible to string a sentence together. Maybe just "I'm so full" or "I feel sick (from being so full)". But we'll get to the food envy soon.....

We started our day ready to join the best school of Wizardry around, unfortunately being bluntly rejected by the wall dividing the platforms. Hedgwig was super helpful though, pointing us in the right direction to the wonderful Madame Tussaud's..

It's no wonder so many tourists visit this place, it's pretty phenomenal how life like the wax sculptures are.. A lot of the time I was on edge thinking when I got really close one of them would say "boo" and I'd lose it.. (They should get a celebrity to do that one day, it'd be hilarious!).

It was so exciting to get up close with all of these people, the detail down to their eyelashes is apparently right on par. It was really interesting to learn about the rules of becoming a wax sculpture.. Apparently the artists refuse to sculpt you unless you physically come and get moulded (for those alive). Here's a few of our favourites...

George was really down to earth & funny... Such a gentleman.. Haha

Brad stepped aside to let Dean cop a feel...

My favourites!!!!

Oh Ryan... We were standing waiting for a photo with Ryan because there was a line previously and now just one lady standing taking a photo. Dean and I stood aside waiting for her with her huge camera, a minute or so later looking at each other wondering who the hell takes so long to take a photo. Whispering to each other about her, wondering if her camera has a super long exposure or something.... Yep, she was wax... Ahhahaaha. We stood for a good minute or two waiting for a wax figure to finish taking her photo of the great Gosling... I'm still laughing about it. Haha

This bitch...

Then we had a moment..

I kept telling Dean to get photos of himself I swear...

He obliged with 007..

Pele!

Becks.. Again.

What a beautiful woman.... Even in wax..

Unintentional creep face on for Harry..... He thinks I'm funny..

Kate making me look like a gargoyle.

Dean was sad there was no Katy Perry model.. But settled for Rhianna..

.. & Brittney ..

...& J-Lo!

Tony Abbott called... Obama & I had a laugh.. Naturally.

Lol.

There were many more & it was such a fun time!

Being such a beautiful day we decided to go straight to the Eye to get a great view. Apparently if you visit on a cloudy day you don't see very far, so we were counting our blessings. I sat on the bench in the middle the entire time, I did get up once but my jelly legs were concerning so I sat back down. Dean wandered around & took photos. Even from the chair the view was amazing.. Looking right over the city..

Then we quickly ducked across to Italy for lunch... Not quite, but it certainly felt that way, such amazing Italian food in a side street near the Eye...

After which we proceeded to The London Dungeon which is an interactive show where you walk through the history of London including The Plague, Sweeney Todd, & Jack the Ripper (did he ever get caught? They didn't say....). It was lots of fun & a tiny bit scary in the old dungeons, but having little kids in our group made me feel a bit better. Naturally there was no photos of the acts so nothing to share..

We then made our way to Buckingham palace which is obviously huge! So big I couldn't get it all in a photo.
It was so busy as i'm sure it always is..

We decided to get our coin throws in early since the Trevi Fountain is currently closed for restorations (sad face).

After another big day we caught the bus to Coventry Gardens for a drink and relax.. I ordered a chocolate cookie & Dean had a scone.... This is what was served... I almost fell off my chair.
It was delicious.

A short walk later we found a cute bar called Verve that had happy hour with 1/2 price cocktails.. Oh yeah! 2 cocktails & seeing double later (I really should drink more often so I'm not so unconditioned) we looked out the window & there it was.... Fate. Now, I read about this place from my favourite blogger The Londoner who discovered it in 2011 in America (well before it hit the UK), and the line out the door and around the corner suggested it was as good as she had promised. And it was. Five Guys, it's greasy, and mouth-wateringly amazing. They have barrels of peanuts for you to snack on while waiting in line.
You order your burger and then choose your toppings (right down to pickles & the sauces). We both went for the cheeseburger with ketchup and decided to share a chips.

If you come across one do yourself a favor and join the line (& the cult), we both agree they are the best burgers we have ever had. The chips were really unnecessary hence both of our food comas!

We decided to inflict our pain on some poor girl doing bike taxi rides, we took up the offer which was so fun. She was a great tour guide & luckily a personal trainer so she could handle our Five Guys weight.. She rode us to the tube station where we journied home.

Anyway, we have no plans today which is lovely... We might go visit Oxford street for some shopping! Yayyyy!
