It's been two days now and the playlist called 'my brain' has switched between Art V Science- Parlez-vous francais, Kendrick Lamar- backstreet freestyle, and "I'm Madeleine, I'm Madeleine I may be very small, I'm Madeleine I'm Madeleine but inside I'm tall". Weird, I know. Oh, and of course Kanye & Jay-Z 'niggas in Paris' what sheeee order? Fish fillaaaay.
Anyway... We started the day with breakfast, I went for the traditional Nutella crepe and Tail went for Starbucks ham & cheese sandwhich (borrrring). Oh, the Starbucks French girl asked Dean to spell his name... This is what we ended up with..... I was dying of laughter all day.
We jumped on the tube and headed to the other side of the Siene to the beautiful Invalides before making our way to the Eiffel Tower.
We were only allowed to buy tickets to the second level which was plenty high enough (for me anyway) and the line for the third was enough to turn us off.. The views were amazing on the second. We noticed three French soldiers wandering around the bottom of the tower keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. I'm sure their machine guns that were ready locked and loaded would be enough to warn anyone naughty off..
Having no idea where we were, we caught a taxi to the Champs Élysées for a wander and some lunch, time to try the snails. Dean was surprisingly more ok with them than me. The garlic sauce that smothered them was delicious, the snails themselves I didn't enjoy.
A spot of shopping on the famous busy street & we headed home for a resfresh & bag drop before heading to the Louvre.
Oh, Mona. She really is a work of art. It's a little funny the room she lives in is covered with some of the BIGGEST paintings I have ever seen (probably a good 100 square meters according to Dean's maths) and poor little Mona is trapped in huge glass cabinets & sensors with no one allowed within arms reach of the glass before the glass. She is pretty though so it was worth paying her a visit.
We strolled through downtown Paris to a highly recommended restaurant hidden down a back street and boy did it deliver! Entree, main & desert and we left with a full wallet and happy bellies.
My new Tiffany necklace..
I cannot get past the amazing doors in Paris! I want these when I have my own house. We've seen every size, design, and colour. I love them all!
Au revoir x
